Handheld Setup
Power on your Handheld, connect it to your network, and register it with your Nizam dashboard.
The Handheld is designed for quick setup. A built-in card reader and straightforward network connection mean minimal work between unboxing and your first donation. The device requires either a Wi-Fi or LTE connection to operate.
What's in the Box#
- Handheld tablet — the portable device with a built-in card reader, displays campaign media in landscape and switches to portrait for the donation flow
- Dock — for charging and tabletop display
- Travel pouch — for safe transport between locations
<!--
The card reader is built into the tablet — no external hardware to pair or attach.
Dock#
The included dock charges the Handheld and doubles as a tabletop stand. When docked in landscape orientation, the device automatically displays your campaign media full screen — ideal for registration tables and event setups.
Connectivity#
The Handheld needs a network connection to accept donations. Since it runs in multi-app mode, network settings are accessible directly through the standard settings interface.
Wi-Fi — connect through the device's Wi-Fi settings like any tablet. This is the simplest option when a reliable network is available at your venue.
LTE (optional) — the Handheld supports optional LTE cellular connectivity for true mobility. LTE requires configuration through the device settings. Once set up, the Handheld operates anywhere with cellular coverage — no local Wi-Fi needed. This is ideal for events, outdoor fundraising, and locations without reliable Wi-Fi.
Registering the Device#
Once the Handheld is powered on and connected to a network, the screen displays a QR code. Scan this code with your phone and follow the prompts to register the device with your Nizam dashboard.
Device Status and Retiring#
Once registered, your Handheld is tracked as Online, Offline, or Retired. Devices with donation history can be retired (not deleted) to preserve records. See Device Lifecycle for full details.
